Day Events is the personal and bespoke catering service founded by Alan Irwin in 2011 to cater for private parties, weddings and corporate functions.
We are based in Sevenoaks and cover events in London, Kent, Essex, Sussex and Surrey. With over 25 years hospitality experience, Alan has worked in some of the finest award winning and Michelin accredited restaurants in London and Kent.
Alan began his career at the Michelin starred Chapter One in Bromley, Kent spending nine years learning from the acclaimed Andy McLeish. He was then head hunted to become Head Chef at the multi award winning Mulberry Tree in Boughton Monchelsea.
Under his stewardship the restaurant won Taste of Kent, Restaurant of the Year in 2008 and 2009, was voted The Good Food Guide South East Restaurant of the Year and awarded two AA rosettes as well as Michelin accreditation. Alan then went on to be Head Chef at The Spa Hotel, Tunbridge Wells where he headed the team catering for all of the weddings and parties.
He is passionate not only about his food, but every detail of an event, however large or small and this includes the provenance of his ingredients, carefully sourcing from local independent suppliers wherever possible. Day Events cater for a wide range of clients, whether you are looking for catering in your own home, at a venue or in a marquee, we can provide the ultimate experience for you and your guests.
